I ALWAYS THOUGHT EYESIGHT WAS AMAZING
When I was young I was lucky enough to have good eyesight but something intrigued me about helping others see the world perfectly too, which is how I decided to become an Optometrist.
I took myself across to Bradford University, where I qualified as an Optometrist in 1992. I gained invaluable experience in all sorts of opticians practices, from large companies to small independent practices, in the UK and Australia. It was during this time that I began to form my vision of a truly unique practice, where the highest standards of eyecare, exceptional customer service and industry-leading innovation are the norm. Being Belfast born and bred, and with this vision in mind, I returned home to start Jonathan Hall Opticians just three years later.
Now at Jonathan Hall Opticians, I get to work each day with great clients and wonderful co-workers. I spend most of my day carrying out eye examinations and contact lens checks, but I also have regular catch-ups with my colleagues for team training and to discuss new ideas. I believe the difference between good customer service and great customer service is attention to detail. What may seem like a trivial point to some, I see as the opportunity to achieve something exceptional. At the practice, I am notorious for being very particular. I only want the best for our clients and they deserve the best that we can give them.
Outside of work, I spend time with my friends & family and I love a bit of Ulster Rugby. I enjoy riding my road bike, reading about history and business, "sampling" craft beer, and growing my own vegetables. Oh...and some people are surprised to learn I also have a diploma in Wines & Spirits.
