The gorgeous Ava has just moved on to advanced training in London, and we caught up with her new trainer Luke to find out how things are going so far!
As Ava has only just started working with Luke, he has been spending quality time walking, grooming and playing with her to build a good bond. This is so important for training, as Ava is far more likely to follow Luke’s commands if she trusts him. Luke tells us that Ava has begun to realise that as he is the ‘Keeper of the Food’, it is definitely worth being good!
Ava spends all day with Luke; out and about in London, walking around the office or sitting next to his desk. She has been introduced to London trains and buses too, and has no trouble with either of them. Well done Ava!
Luke will soon be taking Ava on the London Underground, and trying her out on the escalators. He will also take Ava to King’s Cross station, Camden and Oxford Street, so she will be pretty city savvy! Luke is hopeful that she will take it all in her stride as she is very confident and picks things up quickly. Luke tells us that Ava is rarely scared to try things, which is great.
We are excited to hear that over the coming weeks, Luke will be looking to match Ava with her future owner. As labradoodles can be less likely to provoke dog allergies than other breeds, due to the fact that they moult less, Luke will be looking primarily to partner Ava with someone who would benefit from this. He adds, smiling, “Ava’s future owner will have to suit a dog with personality, she’s quite a character!”
As Ava settles in to advanced training, we are excited about the prospect of her being able to make a difference to someone’s life – especially if that person could not normally have a dog due to allergies!
Good luck to Ava with the rest of her training, and we look forward to seeing how this bright girl is getting on in her next Pupdate, due in February.
