Did you know that you can now be treated for minor eye conditions in our practice, without having to go to your GP?
Everyone knows that opticians perform sight tests and provide glasses. But not so many know that opticians are actually best placed to look after eye conditions such as red eyes, sore eyes, flashes & floaters, sudden visual change and many more.
Many people head straight to their local A&E or GP surgery with eye complaints, but there is a new NHS-funded service that has been introduced which means you can now be assessed by one of our highly trained optometrists in our practice free of charge.
This has several advantages:
We are local and easy to access with free car parking. You also won't have lengthy waiting times for an appointment as we will see you within 48 hours, usually sooner.
We are highly trained and qualified to look after your eye and have specialist knowledge and experience in eyecare. We also have advanced eye equipment not usually available at your GP surgery. This then allows GPs to save their appointments for other issues that they are best placed to help. It also helps reduce pressures on the hospital eye department due to unnecessary patient visits.
You don’t need a referral to be seen, just contact the practice. We will aim to diagnose your problem at your initial appointment and advise on the best course of treatment for you. If necessary, we can refer you for further investigation or treatment.
