I once won a bronze medal for completing the 50 metres breaststroke. I was thrilled. Come on, who doesn’t love winning an award!
We finished our last blog with a cursory mention of our own recent industry award, so let us, if we may, tell you a little bit more. On the 1st October just past, we stood against a strong field of fellow opticians in the Business Eye HealthCare Awards, held at The Europa Hotel. To be included on such an illustrious short list of seven would in itself have represented an achievement. But guess what? We scooped first prize! To be the feather in the cap and walk away outright winner in our category is a success of which we are very proud. Now, we know it’s not quite the Oscars, but allow us to indulge in a little piece of personal kudos. This top industry endorsement is an uplifting inspiration, for us to go on doing the things that secured the award in the first instance, and then take them on to a new level.
We understand the importance of growth, but we also remain committed to the vitality of the personal touch. Our award owes as much to you as our customer partners as it does to our relentless drive towards professional innovation. High quality patient care is our mission, for we are guided by service. We firmly believe in the old adage that ‘he profits most who serves best’.
Your eyes are indispensable. Remember, that an eye test will identify problems that are not necessarily always driven by obvious symptoms. Costs are not high, and there are free tests for those who meet NHS criteria. The importance of eye tests should never been taken for granted. Were you to allow 2 years to elapse without seeing a dentist, you might think, quite rightly, that you were neglecting your choppers! Need we say anymore?
Apologies if that seemed a little preachy. It certainly would never be our intention. It’s simply a reflection of our dedication to customers old and new. We believe that we have created a vision here at JHO, one that we continue to articulate passionately and drive on towards completion. At the 2014 HealthCare Awards, we stood alongside our competitors, all innovators in our own way, but all standing on the shoulders of giants, those ground breaking optometrists who paved the way for our contemporary successes. Our business is not to get ahead of others, but to get ahead of ourselves; to break our own records; to outstrip our yesterdays by our today.
That we have received such recognition for the quality of our organisation at such a high profile awards event shows that we have our finger very much on the pulse, not just with the latest technology, but also the individual needs of our clients. We know you’ll always have lots of questions for us and we hope you’ll feel comfortable enough to ask them. We will always aim to meet those questions head on and couch our language and tone in a manner that does not alienate you as punter, but rather meets your specific needs head on. That is our guarantee.
Winning this accolade is very special to us. It is a seal of approval that vindicates all we have sought to achieve thus far. We invite you to be part of our journey.
